Life at TEMI

Education :

All children who are able to go to the local school do so, and are integrated into life in the Gremi village as much as possible. Just like any other family, we care about our children doing well at school and give them all support in this and encourage them to aim for higher education.
One of our beneficiaries graduated from Telavi university and lives independently and is a self-sufficient now. It is one of our future projects to establish a hostel in Tbilisi. This would greatly enhance our capacity to ensure that all of our children who have the ability, can go to university, take part in professional trainings and get the best possible start in life.
Temi encourages learning for all our residents and tries to incorporate education into all facets of daily life. This often takes the form of practical skills, such as cooking, agriculture and carpentry. However, teaching of the basic school curriculum is also provided, as well as music, art and some language teaching.

Medical and social care :

The Temi team is dedicated to ensuring that the physical and mental well-being of all residents is guaranteed. This includes 24-hour care, provision for special needs and diets, educational stimulation and opportunity for expression through music, drama and art therapy. We have regular visits from supervisors, artists, occupational therapists and pediatricians.

A working Community :

Temi residents have a sense of pride in their home. This is because everyone has a useful and valued role here: they help in looking after the cattle, produce the dairy goods, pick the fruit and vegetables that the community enjoys and relies on, keep the home itself running smoothly, and play with the children. Everyone's contribution is recognized and important, leading to a spirit of respect, independence, teamwork and contentment among the members of the Temi 'family'. It is the ambition of Temi to achieve self-sustainability through the co-operative efforts of the Residents.
